The Variations of Two Circles, Blue, acrylic and threaded beads on canvas, 36"x48",
Lines divide the canvas into distinct planes, each becoming a boundary — a space with its own edge and shape. Within each boundary, beads are placed one by one, filling the space by hand, slowly. This repetitive gesture brings a sense of calm. Each bead casts its own shadow, and as the angle of light shifts, the changing length of these shadows offers a quiet pleasure. The proportions and composition of the lines, too, create their own gentle ease. Here, each division becomes a seam where one plane meets another, settling into a still, unified whole. This work is realized in a blue palette.
